Abstract
Aim. To assess the influence of sentinely lymph node biopsy (SLB) on the quality of life of the patients with early stage breast cancer compared with the axillar total lymphadenectomy (AL). Patients and methods. A perspective case control study was performed on patients treated in Surgery Clinic of Kaunas university of Medicine in 2004-2005 ny due to early stage breast cancer. All womwn had a breast conserving surgery and were T1-T2 and NO, MO. The patients with SLB were grouped using matched pairs method with the patients who underwent AL according the age and TNM criterion, in 31 patients in each group. [...].
